Mobilization Impact (Muzaffargarh)
Basti Jhalarain Shumali also Known as Basti Azad Kashmir is a part of Mouza Jhalarain Shumali, Union council Rung Pur of Tehsil Muzaffargarh, District Muzaffargarh. It is 45 Kilometers away from District Head Quarter, Muzaffargarh. Doaba is working with this riverine community of Muzaffargarh since 2006. Under the project of CCDRR Doaba's team members were taking initiatives of Child Rights sessions with children lead CYOs. A twelve year old child Muhammad Tanveer s/o Muhammad Ali highlighted issue about the role of all influential of the area.
In a meting with CYO held at girls Community School Jhalarain Shumali issue of salary of teacher was under discussion. Some of the members suggested that they should go to the influential and collect donations for teacher salary.
“At this Mr. Tanveer said that he thought it useless to seek help from local influential because they don t want to see us educated. He further said that these local influential fear that if we get education then we may get better jobs, which will be a loss for them because they get a low paid human resource for their cultivation in form of uneducated people like us,,
These words of Tanveer are a sign of those awareness and sessions which have been conducted to develop their thinking habits to resolve the issues according to the local context.
